You won’t be pigeon holed in this role and you won’t be stuck behind a desk. You will manage project sites effectively and professionally in accordance with Apex’s policies and procedures.  You will be able to understand the technical elements of each project and be able to effectively manage the construction phase, manage subcontractors, manage H&S to ensure that the project is delivered on time, on budget and that it meets all technical requirements of the design.

Please note, this role is full-time, permanent and requires frequent travel to sites, sometimes over consecutive weeks once fully onboarded.

 The successful applicant will:

  • Build strong and open relationships internally and with clients, subcontractors & suppliers.
  • Review and understand the design for each project to ensure that it is robust and fit for purpose.
  • Co-ordinate or assist in the co-ordination, of all site activities including site establishment, subcontractor management, daily pre-starts and toolbox meetings.
  • Accurately estimate work by producing schedules and organising pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Manage effectively subcontractor hours and forecast to completion for hourly rate workers and assign contractors work scope and activities.
  • Help monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Help manage budgets, forecasts and project programmes.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are always implemented onsite and ensure that all subcontractors and employees work within the confines of the H&S and Environmental policies.
  • Ensure that all project documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Participate in project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement.

 We want someone who:

  • Has a minimum of 5 years experience in in horizontal infrastructure construction site management
  • Is well versed in civil and mechanical construction and familiar with all site activities
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Has the ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Can travel and work effectively on sites away from the office
  • Is passionate about delivering top notch services to clients while having fun along the way
